I love the way these pictures give a fainter echo of the brighter colours of the summer in Cornwall and Devon: similar topography, different season.
Thank you – it’s very conscious in my mind, so I’m gad it’s apparent. This is the second winter I’ve been on the trail, lat year being in Hampshire. So I’m partly thinking of that while in South Wales as well as Devon for the reasons you mention.

Gorgeous pictures! The fog or little light give them an eerie atmosphere that one has a tendency to naturally think of when thinking of the coasts of England…
Back from El Camino in Spain last October after walking 845 kms, I immerse myself in other hikers/walkers’ experiences through reading and pictures, to not lose the trail….

Well done on El Camino! Sounds like you should plan your next trail 🙂 I agree about the fog it seems to give the place a more mysterious atmosphere, it’s certainly one of the advantages of pressing on through winter
Next trail is a climb: I should be on top of Mt Blanc by the end of June if all goes well weather-wise this year; we’ve been deterred twice already.
