This is the second time I’ve sat by the window in the charming Hartleys Beach Cafe in St Bees. The previous time was six years ago about to embark on Wainwright’s Coast to Coast walk which starts from here and follows the coast for a few miles before heading east across the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors.

  1. Once again, you have presented beautiful photos and so interesting landscapes. Hartleys Beach Cafe is very Edward Hopperish isn’t it? Lovely

    • You are right about Hopper I knew the atmosphere was familiar and I wasn’t sure in what way. It was a throwaway phone shot but it ended up my favourite from this day.
