It’s been intense rain all day again. Drivers aren’t expecting a sodden hiker on the roads so it’s on with the head torch and hi viz, even in ‘daylight’.

Me too. Most of the bay is a firing range now so wondered if a fisherman lived here who could no longer sustain a living. Just a guess though!
There is no longer a firing range in Luce Bay, it’s now been hander to the local Government although the bouys are still in the bay for navigation.

For ‘moody’ and ‘creepy’ — how about ‘The Wickerman?’ You’ve passed through many of its locations (including a half dozen on Day 187), and near to others, with more to come.
Most scenes were shot in Galloway: Castle Douglas (near, Day 180); Kirkcudbright (Day 182); Gatehouse-of-Fleet and Anwoth (near, Day 184); Creetown and (for lodgings and local auditions) Newton Stewart (Day 184); Whithorn (near), Isle of Whithorn, Burrowhead (culminating scenes), and St. Ninian’s Cave (Day 187); Port Logan (near, Day 190); Stranraer (Day 193). Coming soon: Lochinch (near) and Culzean.
Way back when, you walked not too far from the two sites in England: Colliers Green (between Chatham – Day 6, and Hastings – Day 16); Wookey Hole (near Burnham-on-sea – Day 91).
Further ahead: Skye (near) and Plockton . . .

Question: I’m curious where you found the name of the place ‘portacree’. From the pics of the buoy house and the tower in the background of the house by the sea you were at Logan Mill? Between Chapel Rossan and the New England bay caravan site. I grew up in the area and have never heard it called portacree.

You’re right it is Logan Mill. Portacree is the bay just south of there according to the OS map. I’m just wary of putting very precise location info on derelict buildings online in case it leads to vandalism. Thanks for following and greetings from Ayr.
