I’m frequently delighted by finding picnic benches is remote and scenic locations since entering Scotland. A seat and a table can seem like the ultimate in civilisation after a few days wild camping. This one near in Carradale overlooks Arran and Kilbrannan Sound.

I didn’t take many pictures today as I was preoccupied with blisters caused by the state of my shoes. This is pair number six, each one lasts about a thousand kilometres before the treads wear out and the uppers start to tear.

Engo blister prevention patch fixed the rubbing and lasted until Oban (another twenty days hike) before falling off.

  1. Pete Johnstone says:

That’s a thought you must of seen a fair bit of wildlife on walking the coast – any otters or eagles yet?

    • I normally start to see rare animals after I meet an expert like this guy who tells me what and where to look. I realised after talking to home that some of the time I thought I was seeing a seal it was probably an otter!

Whether you have comments on the photos, some knowledge or a personal story on this area you’d like to share, or you’ve spotted a typo or error, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
