Resupply at Clachan Filling station, the only shop for seven days walking.

Delicious milk from the Wee Isle Dairy on Gigha.

The next four days supplies from Clachan Filling station.

I haven’t had one of these since I was a teenager – probably for a very good reason.

These towball covers remind me of some kind of novelty sex toy ….or maybe that’s just me!

I appreciate a farmer’s cludge and this specimen is magnificent. A path gate, zip tied to a road gate closed with a wire post sandwich. The zip ties are painted white to match for a professional finish.

Trying to follow the old coast road near West Tarbert, the plants are growing up through cracks in the tarmac below.

They still sell Mash, I don’t believe it! Had that on my Groats End walk – can’t say it was that good really!

  2. Graham Butcher says:

Amazing photographs from a keen photographer in New Zealand. It’s encouraging me to do the same here. Not sure if my wife would allow me.

    • Glad to hear it’s inspiring. The coast of NZ would be a great tramp for sure. If the desire to do it is genuine then someone who loves and understands you should let go. Don’t let that or anything else be an excuse not to start!

  3. Graham Butcher says:

Great words of encouragement. My wife has just said if I want to do it, go ahead and plan it and I may do just that.

  4. Had to laugh at ‘farmer’s cludge’ as in Scotland a cludge or cludgie is a shared toilet in a tenement…

Whether you have comments on the photos, some knowledge or a personal story on this area you’d like to share, or you’ve spotted a typo or error, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
