A flock of sheep, some black some white, run towards me and start following behind me on the road. ’Received a lot more followers today’ I tweet along with a photo of my entourage. At first the company is amusing, then it becomes disconcerting and finally after a couple of miles of walking at the head of this woolly posse they decide they’ve come far enough. Further down the road, I pass The Monster Midge of Ardtoe, a large boulder with painted teeth as large as a dinosaur and dripping with blood.

A long way to walk to get back to where you started from. I liked the pics of Muck and the castle. The best was the short video across wild country – how you do this without getting lost beats me!
Lots of taking bearings and checking the position with GPS. Despite this, there is still lots of backtracking as routes which look ok on the map turn out to be impassable.
