Stunning shots of castle.
Thanks, it was an amazing sight to see this after a long day’s walking
The slate fences are marvellous.
Wonderful aren’t they
I find the Cliff reinforcement strangely attractive.
likewise
The castle pictures are incredible.
Thank you, classic blue hour, just after dusk
Lovely pics. They highlight stuff we’ve perhaps learned to take for granted (like the fences, which are ubiquitous). It’s Penmaenmawr (one word), by the way. It means ‘big stone head’ and is sometimes used as a north Welsh colloquialism for hangover!
Thanks, Brilliant colloquialism, thanks for sharing. Typo corrected 🙂
The blog entry, “Day 138: Bangor to Conwy – Slate & Concrete,” is part of Quintin Lake’s photographic journey walking around Britain’s coast. The post features several images captured during the walk, highlighting the juxtaposition of natural slate fences and modern concrete structures in the Welsh landscape, culminating with stunning dusk views of Conwy Castle. This recurring theme of natural and built materials provides a striking visual commentary on the coastal environment of North Wales. Johnson City Fencing Contractor
This blog post is a beautiful study in contrasts, showcasing how the harsh, industrial elements of slate and concrete are integral to the identity of the North Wales coastline. The photographer truly captures the dramatic, almost sculptural quality of the slate fences set against the expansive landscape, which is a powerful visual reminder of the area’s rich history.
