Merseyside is a visual feast, I could have spent weeks there taking snaps. Nice to see your proper photos. Interested to see the cranes, my Great-Grandfather was a millwright from Tranmere, he was killed when a crane he was fixing was blown into Liverpool docks. Looking forward to you reaching Norfolk (but I think you’ve quite a way to go!) bw A
It is a feast and seemed even more so to me after so many days in the relative wilds of Wales. Not a nice way to go for your grandfather. Incredibly those red cranes arrived fully formed by ship from China https://www.placenorthwest.co.uk/news/liverpool-2-mega-cranes-arrive-from-china/
I was born in Norfolk so it will seem like coming home but yes 2.5 years to go!
that hydraulic tower is a carbon copy of the town hall in siena. amazing!
Wow I’d never realised that before – it is indeed identical! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torre_del_Mangia
