Seems suitable weather to spend all day walking on tarmac beside razorwire fences protecting nuclear weapons, to end up where I started, while being eyeballed by passing patrols. This is one walk that I would not recommend!

And not a moment too soon
I detest that nuclear weaponry and the thinking, or lack of it, which supports the existence of such useless danger, and waste of money. Did you see anything iof the protestors’ or their camp?

There’s a couple of pictures of the peace camp on the previous day but the weather was so filthy that nobody was about. According to their facebook page there are a handful of people still living there. I’m sympathetic towards both the protestors and the MOD which wouldn’t make me a very good policy maker! It’s certainly chilling to witness the scale and readiness of the whole operation.

Great shot of the ‘Killer Trident’ graffiti – says it all, really.

Unsurprisingly, there’s a real feeling of menace in the air. I guess those that work there get used to it.
