  1. Looks like you got wet feet for this one, but the beaches along this section are lovely. Like you I was lucky enough to see seals (though my pictures aren’t as good as yours). I also visited Dunrobin Castle (on another day) which was nice, they also did a falconry display when I was there. As it was low tide I took a “short cut” by walking over the sands of Loch Fleet to the end of The Mound. In hindsight not an especially good idea, but I made it OK.

    • I was happy to get wet feet, they were sore after all the road walking previously! They are beautiful and benign after the rugged Caithness cliffs. I wanted to do that shortcut but my tide times were wrong.

    Beautiful picture of the Moon! Regarding the Duke of Sutherland nitroglycerin might do the trick! Probably floodlit too so the long dead duke’s legacy steals the star to this very day?
