Looks wheeled to me.

An amazing seafood pizza in Sutor Creek Cafe.

South Sutor Extended Defence Officers Post (XDO Post). The anti-submarine minefield would have been controlled from here. The officer in the post would have the responsibility of electrically firing the minefield if a submarine was detected in the firth.
Linked electrically to the XDO Post was a loop of cable on the sea bed, and whenever a ship or submarine sailed over it, the magnetic field signatures from them would cause a current to flow in the loop, causing a light to flash in the XDO Post. If it was an enemy that was detected, the controlling officer could set off a line of mines lying in the centre of the loop. All the mines would go off simultaneously.

A lost bear at South Sutor.

I was keen to get into South Sutor Coast Battery as its been described as “the most complete surviving coast battery within Scotland” but there are guards!!

Oh joy, I’m lying in the dark listening to the close proximity splash of cow pats and streams of cow piss!

Eight hours later and they’re still there!

The Perimeter is a labour of love: it’s taken 454 days of walking, hundreds of hours of planning and thousands of hours of editing. If you have the means, I’d appreciate your support by buying a print or contributing so I can continue to share the project with you.

I “cheated” and used the Cromarty to Nigg ferry instead, so I didn’t go around the west side of the Black Isle (which I also noticed is neither blank nor an isle!).
I never thought about of the Reformation and the connection between it and mortality. In pre reformation art the dead are often seen as very much active and doing things.Of course Scotland very much fell under the spell of Paris born lawyer and religious reformer, John Calvin, who believed that only a certain number of people would be saved and furthermore they already had been as they where predestined for salvation.John Knox who was born,if I remember correctly,in Haddington between Edinburgh and Dunbar, went to Geneva, where Calvin had fled to,to learn about Calvinism and brought it back to Scotland where it spread rapidly.
