Beautiful photography! Plockton is one of the places I’ve most enjoyed visiting but that was a long time ago, so this is a lovely reminder. 🙂
It’s so sheltered almost tropical, or at least that’s how it felt to me in contrast to the Rough Bounds further south.
It felt amazing to me – coming from Caithness! 🙂
Glad you took the diversion into Plockton, I did too and enjoyed it there. Like you I was amused by Strome Ferry (No Ferry). If you went down into the village there is also a derelict old hotel which was presumably once used by people waiting for the ferry so when the road opened it lost much of it’s custom. I think however there has intermittently been a ferry since it was officially closed when the road has been blocked.
I was wondering if you were going to include Skye but it looks like not (I didn’t, but I am planning to come back and do it). The Plock of Kyle used to be a golf course and I too went up there to enjoy the views.
I remember the derelict hotel too and like you i’d heard there was an occasional emergency ferry too. I didn’t include Islands in my walk – rather regret that now!
